Dear Meeting Planners and Visitors,

Welcome to the Georgia International Convention Center! We are Georgia’s newest, second largest convention center. Located adjacent to Atlanta’s Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta Airport, and only 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta, the GICC features 150,000 feet of exhibit space, Georgia’s largest ballroom, and one of Georgia’s premier culinary centers. Additionally, the GICC campus features two brand new convention hotels, a 403-room Marriott headquarters hotel, and a 147-room SpringHill Suites hotel, both of which are LEED-certified.

And now, the GICC is the most accessible convention center in Atlanta! With the December 2009 opening of Hartsfield- Jackson’s ATL SkyTrain, a free light rail train linking the GICC to the airport, patrons can now get to the GICC by riding Marta to Hartsfield-Jackson and then boarding the ATL SkyTrain for a free, two-minute ride to the GICC campus.

The unConventional Convention Center

The Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), Georgia’s newest and second largest convention center, is excited to have several new amenities that make it one of the country’s truly UNconventional convention centers. Here are just a few of our exciting new developments:

Free Connection to the World’s Busiest Airport

Just over a year ago, the GICC became the first convention center in the U.S. that is directly connected to a major airport, and it’s the world’s busiest airport, at that. The project making this possible is the ATL SkyTrain, which is a guided railway system that moves guests between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the GICC—and on to the new airport rental car center—in less than two minutes, and FREE of charge. The ATL SkyTrain and the Rental Car Center are part of the Atlanta airport’s 10-year, $6 billion capital development program.

New Hotels

The GICC is proud to have two brand new convention hotels on the GICC campus that opened in the last year. The first is a full-service 403-room Marriott. The second hotel is a 147-room SpringHill Suites, the first of its brand to be LEED-certified. In addition to the two new hotels on the GICC campus, there are an additional 8,000+ hotel rooms within a 2-mile radius of the GICC.

Yes, We Have an App for That

In 2010, the GICC launched its brand new smart phone app, myGICC. The advent of this new app positions the GICC as one of the first convention centers in the U.S. with this technology, and provides clients and patrons a revolutionary new way to experience the facility and to network. myGICC acts as a personal concierge service that provides interactive information about the facility and the surrounding area, including venue floor plans, local restaurant, hotel and shopping information, and detailed flight schedules and much more.
In addition to providing interactive information about the facility and the surrounding area, one of the key features of myGICC is that clients will have the option to tailor myGICC to their specific event, with available features like customized tradeshow floors, aggregation of social media and messaging, and detailed event schedules.

Meetings Facilities And Amenities

The GICC is Georgia’s newest, second largest convention center featuring nearly 300,000 total square feet of flexible meeting space to accommodate every need. The 150,000-square-foot Exhibit Hall is divisible into four separate halls and can fit over 800 10’x10’ booths. Best of all, the GICC boasts Georgia’s largest ballroom—40,000 square feet with room enough to seat over 3,000 guests.
For those who love great cuisine, the GICC boasts one of the finest culinary arts centers in the Southeast. The 9,800 square foot, state-of-the-art kitchen is managed by Georgia’s top caterer, Proof of the Pudding, and headed by acclaimed Executive Chef, Delroy Bowen. The GICC culinary arts team, headed by Chef Bowen, is rapidly becoming known for some of the most innovative and palate-pleasing cuisine in the industry, with an impassioned focus on providing restaurant-quality cuisine.

Diversions & Excursions

The GICC is only 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta and all of the great attractions Atlanta has to offer. Visitors can experience a diverse and thriving cultural scene at the city’s many theatres, museums, galleries, concert halls and family attractions. Explore the city’s role in the Civil War and Civil Rights Movement at museums like the Atlanta History Center and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. Enjoy the world’s largest aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium, taste the New World of Coca-Cola or go behind-the-scenes at the Inside CNN Studio Tour.
